Haskel liquid pumps are pneumatically driven and are designed to provide a safe, reliable and economical source of hydraulic pressure. They automatically reciprocate on a differential piston principle: a large piston driven by relatively low pressure air acts directly upon a smaller hydraulic piston. The nominal ratio between the piston sizes is indicated by the “dash” ratio in the model number and approximates to the maximum working pressure of the pump. Initially, the pump will cycle at maximum speed (acting as a transfer pump to pressurize downstream). The cycle rate will decrease as the fluid meets resistance until it stalls at the maximum output pressure. When a pressure drop downstream occurs, it will cycle as necessary in an effort to maintain maximum pressure.
